Jennifer Brent, MS, RDN, LD

During her teens, Jennifer’s passion for nutrition and wellness evolved from watching the culmination of unhealthy lifestyle habits affect all four grandparents with major illnesses and early death. After graduating from UGA with a business degree, Jennifer’s work in marketing helped her realize that her gifts for teaching, researching, and leading could be better served by integrating those skills with her passion for nutrition. She graduated from Georgia State University with a Master’s degree in Nutrition Education in 1993 and has devoted her career to educating people with sound nutrition advice coupled with practical ways to implement a healthier lifestyle for a better quality of life.

Her diverse career path has spanned many areas of nutrition including wellness, cardiac rehabilitation, medical nutrition therapy, diabetes education, prenatal and post-partum nutrition and breastfeeding, infant and childhood nutrition, weight management and disordered eating, and nutrition for mental health. She created a weight management program for Health Place at Wellstar Kennestone, and a diabetes and cardiac rehab nutrition program for Habersham Medical Center in Demorest, GA.

All these experiences have molded her spiritually and professionally, and she feels blessed and honored to work alongside any individual, group, or organization to further the health, mental outlook, and well-being of people.  Using motivational interviewing, intuitive eating principles, and coaching techniques, Jennifer guides, teaches, and customizes a strategy to help clients achieve results they never thought they could accomplish—such as improved energy, focus, or mood; a healthier relationship with food; normalized blood glucose or cholesterol levels; dealing with stress or emotional eating; confidence in grocery shopping and meal planning for the family. She believes that moderation is key for both a healthy balance of nutrients and a more comfortable and secure relationship with food. And for those who desire it, she incorporates faith-based principles to establish a strong foundation for spiritual identity.
